Jasprit Bumrah Wins ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2024
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has won the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2024, becoming the first Indian pacer to receive this honor. He joins an elite list of Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Rahul Dravid.
Bumrah played a key role in India’s T20 World Cup victory, finishing as the tournament’s top wicket-taker with 15 wickets. He was also the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket in 2024, with 71 wickets in 13 matches.
Apart from this award, he also won the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year award. Currently, Bumrah is recovering from an injury and is expected to return for the Champions Trophy next month.

ISRO Successfully Launches NVS-02 Satellite
India’s space agency, ISRO, achieved another milestone with the successful launch of the NVS-02 satellite from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, using the GSLV-F15 rocket at 6:23 AM. This mission marks ISRO’s 100th launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
The NVS-02 satellite was built at ISRO’s U R Satellite Centre with support from other research teams. It will enhance India’s navigation system, NavIC, which provides precise location, velocity, and timing data for civilian and military users across India and neighboring areas.
The NVS series aims to strengthen India’s navigation capabilities, ensuring reliable and accurate services in the future.
इसरो ने सफलतापूर्वक एनवीएस-02 सैटेलाइट लॉन्च किया
भारत की अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी इसरो ने एक और बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल की है। इसरो ने आंध्र प्रदेश के श्रीहरिकोटा से एनवीएस-02 सैटेलाइट को जीएसएलवी-एफ15 रॉकेट से सुबह 6:23 बजे सफलतापूर्वक लॉन्च किया। यह लॉन्च इसरो के लिए 100वां मिशन है।
एनवीएस-02 सैटेलाइट को इसरो के यू आर सैटेलाइट सेंटर में विकसित किया गया है और इसे अन्य अनुसंधान टीमों का भी सहयोग मिला है। यह भारत की नेविगेशन प्रणाली “नविक” को और मजबूत करेगा, जो देश और आसपास के क्षेत्रों के लिए सटीक स्थान, गति और समय की जानकारी प्रदान करता है।
एनवीएस श्रृंखला भारत की नेविगेशन क्षमताओं को बेहतर बनाने में मदद करेगी, जिससे भविष्य में अधिक सटीक और भरोसेमंद सेवाएं सुनिश्चित की जा सकेंगी।

Blue Carbon Ecosystems: Nature’s Climate Solution
Mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrasses are powerful natural carbon absorbers, helping fight climate change more effectively than tropical forests. Research shows that mangroves can store carbon up to ten times faster than mature forests.
These ecosystems not only reduce carbon emissions but also protect coastlines from erosion, support fisheries, and boost tourism. A 10% restoration of the world’s degraded mangroves could store an additional 1.6 billion tons of carbon.
In India, mangrove restoration has received government support and improved local economies. Every ₹1 invested in blue carbon projects is estimated to return ₹6 in economic benefits.
ब्लू कार्बन इकोसिस्टम: जलवायु परिवर्तन का प्राकृतिक समाधान
मैंग्रोव, सॉल्ट मार्श और सीग्रास जैसे पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र प्राकृतिक रूप से कार्बन को अवशोषित करने में सक्षम होते हैं और जलवायु परिवर्तन से निपटने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। शोध से पता चला है कि मैंग्रोव जंगल पारंपरिक जंगलों की तुलना में 10 गुना अधिक कार्बन संग्रहीत कर सकते हैं।
ये इकोसिस्टम न केवल कार्बन उत्सर्जन को कम करते हैं बल्कि समुद्री तटों की रक्षा भी करते हैं, मछली पालन को बढ़ावा देते हैं और पर्यटन को भी सहायता प्रदान करते हैं। यदि दुनिया के 10% क्षतिग्रस्त मैंग्रोव जंगलों को फिर से बहाल किया जाए, तो वे अतिरिक्त 1.6 बिलियन टन कार्बन संग्रहीत कर सकते हैं।
भारत में, मैंग्रोव पुनर्स्थापन को सरकार का समर्थन मिला है, जिससे स्थानीय अर्थव्यवस्था में सुधार हुआ है। ब्लू कार्बन परियोजनाओं में लगाया गया प्रत्येक ₹1, अनुमानित ₹6 का आर्थिक लाभ देता है।

PM Modi Inaugurates 38th National Games
In Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 38th National Games. The event began with a grand Athletes Parade, showcasing national unity and sportsmanship.
A major highlight was the “Tejaswini” torch, which traveled 4,000 km across 13 districts before being handed to PM Modi by Olympian Lakshya Sen. The PM emphasized the importance of sports in India’s growth and mentioned that the government has tripled the sports budget in the last decade under programs like Khelo India.
The National Games will take place in 11 cities across 8 districts of Uttarakhand until next month, featuring 47 events in 35 sports. Before the opening, Maharashtra and Manipur won the first medals in a triathlon competition.

Assam Announces Second Capital: Dibrugarh

5th Khelo India Winter Games Conclude in Ladakh
The 5th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games successfully concluded in Ladakh. The event featured two major winter sports—Ice Hockey and Ice Skating—held at NDS Stadium, Gupuk Lakes, and LSRC ground in Leh.
Ladakh teams won 7 medals, including 4 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze. Over 400 athletes from across the country participated, making the event a major success.
Cultural performances were also a part of the event, celebrating Ladakh’s rich heritage. The Khelo India Winter Games aim to promote winter sports, boost tourism, and provide a platform for young athletes. The second leg of the event will be held in Gulmarg, Jammu & Kashmir, next month.

India Rejects Canadian Report
India has strongly rejected a Canadian report accusing it of interfering in Canada’s affairs. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) dismissed the claims and stated that, in fact, Canada has been meddling in India’s internal matters.
The MEA also pointed out that Canada’s actions have encouraged illegal migration and organized crime, creating security concerns. India has made it clear that it will not tolerate any interference or support systems that enable unlawful activities.

भारत ने कनाडा की उस रिपोर्ट को सख्ती से खारिज कर दिया है जिसमें भारत पर कनाडा के मामलों में दखल देने का आरोप लगाया गया था। विदेश मंत्रालय (MEA) ने इन दावों को निराधार बताते हुए कहा कि वास्तव में, कनाडा ही भारत के आंतरिक मामलों में हस्तक्षेप कर रहा है।
विदेश मंत्रालय ने यह भी कहा कि कनाडा की नीतियां अवैध प्रवासन और संगठित अपराध को बढ़ावा दे रही हैं, जिससे सुरक्षा संबंधी चिंताएं उत्पन्न हो रही हैं। भारत ने स्पष्ट कर दिया है कि वह किसी भी प्रकार के हस्तक्षेप या अवैध गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देने वाली प्रणालियों को बर्दाश्त नहीं करेगा।
